A 13-year-old boy has been taken into custody following a string of hit-and-run incidents that left four individuals injured on the same day.
The first incident occurred at 6:44 am on Friday, September 26, when a male cyclist was struck by a vehicle on Priory Road in Boston, Lincolnshire, sustaining serious injuries. Shortly after at 8:20 am, another male cyclist was knocked off his bike in Maltby Le Marsh in Alford by a hit-and-run driver.
Following these incidents, an elderly man was hit on West Street in Alford, nearly colliding with a small child. The driver fled the scene, leaving the elderly man with minor injuries. In the fourth incident at 10:04 am, a cyclist was knocked off their bike on Bluestone Heath Road in Calceby, Alford.
Subsequently, at 10:23 am, authorities apprehended a 13-year-old boy on Hainton Road in Louth on suspicion of offenses including causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. The authorities suspect a black Range Rover may have been involved in all these incidents.
The boy has since been released on bail. Sgt Billy Spence, the Investigating Officer, urged the public to provide any relevant information or evidence to assist in the ongoing investigation. He emphasized the need for cooperation from witnesses and individuals with dashcam footage or CCTV recordings.
