During his state visit to the UK, Donald Trump expressed fatigue with the numerous sightseeing activities, stating he had “seen so many beautiful things” that he had reached his limit. The US President humorously remarked to tech industry leaders at Chequers that he had been shown around various landmarks, including Windsor Castle and Chequers, but had now grown weary of the sightseeing. He joked that he had promised not to drag the King around Washington’s monuments during a future visit to the US.

Following the conclusion of Trump’s visit, he criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan, alleging that the city had undergone significant changes under Khan’s leadership and was on a path towards “shariah law.” These comments were reportedly made during a private event for tech industry leaders at Chequers.

In another development, Trump launched a scathing attack on Europe at the United Nations, claiming that European countries were deteriorating due to immigration. He also urged Keir Starmer to increase oil production in the North Sea, dismissing concerns about global warming as a “hoax.” Additionally, Trump reignited his feud with Sadiq Khan, baselessly accusing him of attempting to impose Sharia law in London.

In response, a spokesperson for Sadiq Khan dismissed Trump’s remarks as bigoted and emphasized London’s status as a safe and welcoming city. Despite the controversy surrounding Trump’s statements, UK officials and No10 were relieved that his state visit concluded without incident, with Trump appearing to be on his best behavior throughout the trip.
