Vladimir Putin received a warning from a counterpart about the possibility of using nuclear weapons in the UK. A new map has been revealed, pinpointing the specific locations where these potential attacks could occur.

The alarming proposals came from Sergei Karaganov, a 73-year-old advisor known as ‘Professor Doomsday’ due to his role as honorary chairman of the Russian Council for Foreign and Defence Policy. Karaganov has advocated for extreme measures to prevent conflicts between Russia and the US.

In a television segment, Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent advocate for nuclear strikes, made controversial remarks calling for the bombing of Oxford and Cambridge to eliminate what he referred to as the elite British population and their universities. While these threats may seem unlikely to materialize, the impact on UK towns and cities is a concerning prospect.

NuclearSecrecy.com hosts the Nuke Map tool, developed by Alex Wellerstein, a science and nuclear weapons professor at the Stevens Institute of Technology. The site offers simulations of potential damage caused by nuclear weapons, including an 800-kiloton nuclear device reportedly in Russia’s arsenal.

According to the Nuke Map predictions, a nuclear strike on Cambridge would result in catastrophic consequences, with a massive fireball encompassing a radius of 2.97 square kilometers, affecting surrounding areas such as Grantchester, Milton, Teversham, and Cambridge University.

The map indicates different zones of impact, including a ‘moderate blast damage radius’ where buildings would collapse and fires would break out. Further out, the ‘third-degree burns’ zone would cause severe injuries, while the ‘light blast damage radius’ could still harm individuals near the explosion site.

Similar devastation is projected for Oxford, with the inner zone facing vaporization, extending damage to areas like Woodstock and Bicester. Despite these simulations, the UK government emphasizes the importance of its nuclear deterrent in preventing such catastrophic events.

The UK’s independent nuclear deterrent has operated for over 60 years to safeguard national security and ensure the safety of the country and its NATO allies. The Royal Navy maintains continuous at-sea deterrence with nuclear-armed submarines, ready to respond to extreme threats and deter aggression, serving as a crucial element in preserving peace and security.
