The USA’s 45th Ryder Cup got off to an exciting start as Bryson DeChambeau impressed with a birdie after a remarkable drive. However, the American team faced challenges, with DeChambeau’s later tee shot causing disappointment. Justin Thomas also struggled, leading to a tough morning for the US team.

Team USA’s decision to pair up their two dynamic players, DeChambeau and Thomas, did not yield the desired results. This strategy, aimed at energizing the crowd, backfired, reminiscent of a similar mistake made by US captain Hal Sutton in 2004 when he paired Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson to no avail.

Europe claimed victory in the opening session for the first time on US soil since a previous event. DeChambeau’s record in Ryder Cup foursomes stands at 0-3, while Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm, both LIV Golf stars, maintained an undefeated streak together.

Reflecting on the challenging day, Rahm acknowledged the tough competition and the enthusiastic crowd support. Despite a slow start, the pair regrouped, delivering strong performances and securing a crucial win.

The unexpected 4&3 win in the morning session marked a significant turn of events from the early stages of the match. The European fans’ spirited chants against the subdued American spectators added to the intense atmosphere on the course.

As the match progressed, Europe gained momentum, securing a lead that proved insurmountable for the American duo. Hatton and Rahm’s resilience and strategic play ultimately led them to victory, showcasing their determination and skill on the course.
