Two individuals face murder charges following the tragic death of a three-year-old girl in December 2023. The young victim, Penelope Chandle, was discovered by emergency responders at a residence in Hayes just after 6 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Law enforcement officials from the Metropolitan Police have revealed that a man and a woman have been formally charged with murder in connection to the incident.

Manpreet Jatana, aged 34, and Jaskiret Singh Uppal, aged 36, both hailing from Hayes, made a court appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today. They refrained from entering pleas during the brief court session and only verified their personal information.

The court was informed that the accused individuals also face charges of manslaughter, causing or permitting the death of a child, and neglecting a child or causing them harm or suffering unnecessarily. No bail request was made, and the pair have been detained to appear before the Old Bailey on Tuesday, September 30.

In a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police, it was disclosed that emergency services responded to a residence on Pennine Way, Hayes, following a report of a deceased child on Sunday, December 17, at 6:09 pm. The child was identified as three-year-old Penelope Chandle from Hayes. The investigation into Penelope’s death led to the arrest of two individuals on Thursday, September 25, who have now been charged with murder in connection to the tragic incident.
