Presenter John Torode was captured cooking a meal for his spouse Lisa Faulkner in a video she shared shortly before the latest series finale of MasterChef aired this evening. The episode revealed the new winner of the BBC show.
Just before the finale broadcast, Lisa, aged 53, posted a video on Instagram showing John, aged 60, preparing a meal for them. In the footage, John mentioned that he was making a version of pad thai with crispy pork belly and chili sauce, followed by seafood curry and rice.
Viewers got a glimpse of the dishes as John cooked, prompting Lisa to exclaim, “Oh my!” She then expressed her love to John, who reciprocated the sentiment.
The recent MasterChef series kicked off last month with John and Gregg Wallace, aged 60, as judges. Gregg was notably absent from this week’s episodes due to ongoing misconduct complaints.
Last year, Gregg announced his departure from the show amidst allegations of inappropriate conduct. Banijay, the production company, later confirmed Gregg’s exit after accusations of misconduct were found to be valid. John, too, will not be returning to the show as his contract was not renewed following an investigation into alleged offensive behavior.
Despite denying the allegations, John declared that Celebrity MasterChef and two Christmas specials would mark his final appearances on the show. The hosting reins for the next season have been handed over to Grace and Anna Haugh.
