A Dubai businessman known as the “Porta-Potty boss” has been apprehended by authorities for his alleged involvement in a sex trafficking network that exploited vulnerable women. Charles Mwesigwa, who claims to have previously worked as a bus driver in London, is accused of orchestrating a disturbing sex ring in one of Dubai’s affluent neighborhoods.
While the specific charges against Mr. Mwesigwa in the UAE remain unclear, a Dubai law firm confirmed that the suspect is currently held at the Central Prison Centre in Al Awir, Dubai. These illicit gatherings, reportedly organized by affluent individuals, entice young models and influencers with promises of substantial cash rewards, extravagant gifts, and accommodations in luxury hotels.
The hashtag #Dubaiportapotty, with over 450 million views on TikTok, highlights how some influencers are financing their lifestyles by fulfilling extreme sexual requests. Mr. Mwesigwa allegedly offered to arrange women for sex parties at a price of £750, claiming they were willing to fulfill clients’ desires.
Several women, who believed they were traveling to the UAE for legitimate employment in hotels or supermarkets, were shocked when asked to engage in degrading acts. One client of Mr. Mwesigwa reportedly demanded that women allow him to defecate on them.
Tragically, two women associated with Mr. Mwesigwa died under suspicious circumstances by falling from high-rise buildings. While their deaths were initially ruled as suicides, their families are urging authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
One of the deceased women had been misled into believing she was coming to Dubai from Uganda for a job in a supermarket. Instead, she found herself living in a crowded flat with numerous women working for Mr. Mwesigwa. Describing the situation as akin to a marketplace with around 50 women, the victim’s sister highlighted the disappointment and exploitation experienced by the women.
Allegations of coercion and financial exploitation have surfaced, with one woman recounting her ordeal of being trapped in Mr. Mwesigwa’s network. Despite denying the accusations, Mr. Mwesigwa claims to assist women in finding housing and asserts that women willingly attend his events due to his influential connections.
