Nikita Kuzmin, a beloved professional dancer on the show Strictly Come Dancing, made his debut in 2021 at the age of 22. Partnered with Tilly Ramsay, Nikita finished in sixth place in his first year on the BBC series. In subsequent years, he danced with Ellie Simmonds, Layton Williams, and Sam Quek, achieving varying rankings. Anticipation was high for the 2025 season as Nikita was set to partner with Love Island winner Dani Dyer. Unfortunately, Dani had to withdraw from the competition due to an injury before their first dance.
Despite this setback, Nikita remains a successful and resilient dancer. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 13, he sees it as a “superpower” and has not let it hinder his career. Nikita has faced personal challenges but has persevered, transitioning from competition victories to television stardom.
In his personal life, Nikita has had public relationships, including one with fellow dancer Nicole Wirt that ended in 2022. He was later linked to Charlie Backshall, a TikTok personality, but ultimately found love with model Lauren Jaine. The couple now lives together in a modern London flat with their cats, and despite past romantic turbulence, they seem to have found happiness together.
Nikita’s journey showcases his determination, talent, and ability to overcome obstacles, both in his career and personal life.
