Lola Young caused alarm when she collapsed on stage and needed assistance from medical personnel to exit the area. The incident took place during her performance at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York. Lola, who is renowned for her hit single “Messy,” mentioned facing challenges in the days leading up to the event and expressed uncertainty about her ability to participate. Shortly after these remarks, she collapsed, prompting immediate aid.

During her performance of the song “Conceited” at Forest Hills stadium, Lola, aged 24, disclosed her recent struggles but affirmed her determination to be present despite the difficulties she had encountered. Following the incident, she reassured her fans via Instagram that she was doing well and appreciated their concerns.

Earlier, Lola had canceled a show on Friday due to personal reasons. Her manager, Nick Shymansky, conveyed apologies for any inconvenience caused and emphasized the importance of ensuring Lola’s well-being and safety during challenging times.

In 2022, Lola disclosed her diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder at the age of 17, shedding light on the profound impact it had on her life and worldview. She acknowledged the ongoing journey of acceptance and self-discovery, emphasizing that her mental health condition does not define her but rather empowers her.

Schizoaffective disorder, characterized by a blend of symptoms from schizophrenia and mood disorders, was initially mistaken by Lola for clinical depression and bipolar disorder. She shared that a family history of schizophrenia, coupled with past trauma managed through cannabis use, likely influenced the development of her condition.

Lola explained how she recognizes the signs of an impending manic episode, often preempting it with medication. However, the unpredictable nature of her illness can lead to unexpected situations, including being sectioned in the past. She highlighted the challenges of managing extended manic episodes that disrupt her sleep patterns, making touring a demanding endeavor.

Despite feelings of guilt and isolation related to her condition, Lola emphasized her resilience and determination to navigate her mental health struggles, urging others to understand and support individuals facing similar battles.
