Gary Neville has expressed his concerns about Manchester United and questioned the club’s ongoing support for Ruben Amorim. The team faced their third defeat in six Premier League matches this season, losing 3-1 to Brentford over the weekend.
Amorim, in his 10-month tenure, has yet to secure consecutive league victories, with the recent defensive lapses adding to the mounting pressure on him. Neville has voiced fresh worries about the 40-year-old’s future at United, criticizing some of the questionable decisions made.
Speaking to NBC Sports’ Rebecca Lowe, Neville stated, “I am very worried; there is no point in me sitting here and saying I’m not. The levels of performance, the results, and the substitutions yesterday. I saw something at the end of the Grimsby game that they lost in the Carabao Cup a couple of weeks ago, which was Mason Mount ending up at left wing-back.”
Neville highlighted the inconsistency in Amorim’s tactics, emphasizing the need for stability and criticizing the frequent changes in the team’s defensive setup. Despite the disappointing start to the season, Amorim remains confident in his abilities and is determined to turn the situation around at Old Trafford.
He affirmed, “I am always comfortable with the job. I am not concerned; it is not my decision. I will do the best I can every minute I am here. I am never concerned about my job; I am not that kind of guy.”

In other news, Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and featuring over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, including the Premier League and EFL.
