Hollywood actor Tom Holland has broken his silence following a head injury sustained during the filming of the upcoming Spider-Man movie. The incident occurred at Leavesden Studios in Watford on September 19, prompting the actor to seek medical attention. Production was paused for a week to allow him to recover, as filming without him proved impractical.
Providing an update to his fans on Instagram, Holland shared a post from a gala event he attended with his fiancée and co-star Zendaya. Expressing gratitude for the support, he mentioned, “The Brothers Trust holds special meaning for me, and I extend my thanks to my family for organizing another successful night.”
Regarding his health, Holland stated, “I’m feeling better and on the road to recovery. Thanks to my Dad for stepping in after I had to leave early, making the show even more entertaining.” The temporary shutdown of filming for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is estimated to cost £10.5 million due to Holland’s mild concussion, with overall production expenses reaching $200 million (£150 million).
Reports indicate that the daily halt in production is incurring an additional £1.5 million expense until filming resumes. Despite the pause, costs for studio space, equipment, and cast salaries persist. The extended delay also leads to increased accommodation expenses and secondary location costs.
An industry insider highlighted the challenges posed by the filming hiatus, emphasizing the financial strain on the production team and studio. While prioritizing health and safety, the goal remains to resume filming at the earliest opportunity to minimize disruptions and financial losses.
