Kerry Katona has recently discussed the topic of “old friendships,” hinting at her strained relationship with her former Atomic Kitten bandmates, with whom she has had a tumultuous history for more than twenty years.

In her regular column for New! Magazine, the ex-singer commended her close friends Spencer Matthews and Jamie Laing for addressing their differences on a recent podcast episode. However, she made it clear that she has no intention of reconciling with anyone in her own circle, emphasizing that she values her small group of friends and has no unresolved friendships to address.

Reflecting on her past associations, Kerry, who gained fame as a member of Atomic Kitten from 1998 to 2001, expressed her contentment with her current social circle. She highlighted the importance of acknowledging mistakes and resolving conflicts, citing an example of Matthews and Laing’s podcast discussion on their drifting friendship.

Kerry’s departure from Atomic Kitten in 2001, following her pregnancy with husband Brian McFadden, led to tensions within the group, particularly with fellow bandmate Natasha Hamilton. Despite occasional reunions, Kerry’s relationship with the group remained strained, culminating in her final departure in 2017.

While Natasha and Liz McClarnon continued as a duo post-Kerry’s exit, Natasha also departed the group last year, prompting Kerry to humorously hint at rejoining the band on social media. Despite the history of discord, Kerry humorously referenced the group’s hit song “Whole Again,” asserting her completeness outside of the band.

Kerry’s journey with Atomic Kitten has been marked by ups and downs, showcasing the complexities of maintaining friendships in the public eye and the evolution of personal relationships over time.
