Eddie Hearn has not dismissed the possibility of a surprising match-up involving Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua, as Paul seeks a new opponent. Originally slated to face Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in Miami on November 14, the fight is now uncertain due to allegations of battery and kidnapping against Davis. Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s camp, has confirmed an investigation and the search for alternative opponents.
In response to the situation, Most Valuable Promotions stated that they are investigating the civil lawsuit filed against Davis and are carefully reviewing the information to make informed decisions while condemning any form of violence. While the new opponent for Paul has yet to be disclosed, names like Ryan Garcia, Edgar Berlanga, and even Joshua have been mentioned. Hearn, the promoter, hinted at the possibility of a match but emphasized Joshua’s current focus on a February fight, indicating that a bout in 2025 is unlikely.
Joshua, who last fought against Daniel Dubois in September 2024, may miss fighting this year, marking a first in his professional career without a fight in a calendar year. As fans await Joshua’s next move, speculation continues on his potential opponents. Sky has also announced a reduced price for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, including at least 215 live Premier League games.
