The latest winner of the Holiday Park of the Year in the UK has been revealed, and it’s located on a picturesque stretch of Norfolk coastline, nestled between two well-known coastal resorts.

Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village, positioned between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth near the Suffolk border, has received a prestigious five-star rating from the AA. The inspector commended the park for its top-notch leisure and entertainment facilities suitable for all age groups.

The AA Caravan and Camping Awards 2025-26 assessed various parks across the UK in different categories, including Small Campsite of the Year and Glamping Site of the Year. Hopton clinched the sought-after AA Holiday Park of the Year award, with inspectors highlighting its scenic coastal location, natural countryside surroundings, and excellent array of on-site amenities.

The village of Hopton, home to 775 static caravans, is renowned for its expansive sandy beach, a popular spot during the summer season. Visitors can easily access the beach directly, allowing them to relax on the golden sands or take leisurely walks along the low grassy cliffs.

Hopton village exudes traditional seaside charm, featuring fish and chip shops, amusement arcades, and several convenient stores. Additionally, Great Yarmouth, just a brief ten-minute drive away, offers attractions like family-friendly rides at the Pleasure Beach, marine life exploration at the SEA LIFE Centre, and classic seaside entertainment on the pier.

A short 40-minute drive north of Hopton leads to Horsey Gap, a beach renowned for its sizeable grey seal colony, especially active during the pupping season from late October to February. Visitors can observe these adorable creatures from designated viewing platforms without causing disturbance.

For a day trip, Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park, located approximately 15 miles from the park, promises a fun-filled experience for everyone, featuring attractions ranging from a Kiddie Zone for young children to thrilling roller coasters for thrill-seekers.

The park also offers wildlife areas for bird and sea lion sightings, inclusive of a soft play area covered by the ticket price.

If staying closer to the park is preferred, Hopton Holiday Village provides an abundance of on-site activities. Guests can enjoy indoor pools with flumes, an outdoor pool for warmer months, 6-hole golf, tennis, bike and kart rentals, and summer inflatable arena fun.

As a Haven park, Hopton also offers a variety of bookable activities such as climbing walls, archery, and arts and crafts sessions.

The park boasts a large entertainment complex featuring a family-friendly restaurant, fish and chip shop, amusements, fast food takeaways, and The Marina Bar and Stage where Haven’s entertainment team hosts shows. Evening entertainment starts with The Seaside Squad engaging kids in games, followed by activities like bingo and all-ages shows.

A three-night stay at Hopton Holiday Village can be booked starting at £59 for a family of four sharing a saver caravan. Explore more and make reservations here.
