This holiday season, I made the decision to start decorating for Christmas earlier than usual. It’s common for people to face criticism when they choose to do this and share it on social media, but ultimately, it’s essential to prioritize your own joy over others’ opinions.

The reason behind my early decorating choice this year is that both my partner’s and my birthdays fall in close proximity to Christmas, often leading us away from home during the festive season buildup. By putting up our decorations at the beginning of December, we aimed to maximize the time to appreciate and revel in the festive ambiance they create.

Amidst the current wave of negative news worldwide, I firmly believe in embracing anything that brings happiness, no matter how small. If Christmas decorations have the power to uplift your spirits, why not indulge in them sooner?

There is no harm in early decoration; it neither harms nor offends anyone. It’s a simple and cost-free way to infuse your surroundings with cheer, especially considering the amount of time many of us spend at home nowadays.

While some may mock the early festive spirit, decking the halls can be a delightful and engaging activity in itself. Pairing it with a cozy drink like mulled wine or hot chocolate adds to the festive charm.

As Christmas-themed commercials flood screens and markets bustle with holiday cheer, the approach of December 25 becomes increasingly evident. Joining in the festive preparations can be a delightful way to embrace the season’s spirit.

Unpacking cherished decorations accumulated over the years evokes a sense of nostalgia and warmth, particularly ornaments carrying sentimental value for you and your loved ones.

From holiday souvenirs to handmade tokens from friends, each decoration holds a unique memory. Personal touches like Jellycat ornaments add a special flair to our Christmas tree, creating a personalized festive atmosphere.

Attending a local makers market, we acquired a fresh wreath to adorn our door, becoming trendsetters on our street with the first display. Embracing the holiday spirit can uplift even the gloomiest of moods, so I encourage everyone to immerse themselves in the festive fervor.

So, if you find yourself lacking in holiday cheer, consider immersing yourself in the festive season. Crank up the Christmas tunes, let the melodies of Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, and Kelly Clarkson fill your home, and allow the magic of Christmas to envelop you. It’s a decision you won’t regret!
