Emma Raducanu has achieved one of her seasonal objectives as the WTA Tour season concludes. The talented British tennis player ended her season prematurely in October due to health issues.

Raducanu’s season was a mix of highs and lows. She secured notable wins at Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming her position as Britain’s top player. However, she faced fitness struggles towards the end, evident at the Ningbo Open where she required medical attention and lost her opening match in three sets.

After encountering these challenges, Raducanu made the decision to end her season early but announced that she would continue working with coach Francisco Roig in 2026. This choice jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.

The 22-year-old withdrew from her last two tournaments of the year while ranked 29th, casting doubt on her aspiration to be in the top 32. By not earning additional ranking points, she had to await confirmation on achieving this milestone.

With the season now concluded, Raducanu finished the year as world No. 29. Barring a challenging start to the early events in 2026, she is likely to be seeded in Melbourne.

In early October, Raducanu set her sights on being seeded at the Australian Open and explained her motivation for this goal. She emphasized the importance of ranking for tournament success and acknowledged the element of luck in match draws.

The young tennis star also highlighted the significance of being a role model and inspiring younger generations to play tennis. She stressed the importance of maintaining a positive attitude on and off the court to set a good example for aspiring players.

Raducanu currently stands as the sole British player within the top 32 of the WTA rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka claiming the top spot this year. Sky has introduced discounted TV and Sky Sports bundles ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering a wide range of live matches across various leagues.

Sky is set to broadcast over 200 live Premier League games next season, a significant increase from the previous year.
