Ferrari’s president, John Elkann, criticized Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc after a disappointing Sao Paulo Grand Prix, urging them to prioritize driving over talking. Both drivers failed to score points in the race, retiring due to separate incidents.
Meanwhile, Ferrari’s World Endurance Championship team claimed victory at the Eight Hours of Bahrain. Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi, and James Calado secured the drivers’ title, with Ferrari leading the manufacturers’ standings by a significant margin.
Despite successes in other championships, Ferrari has struggled in F1 this season, particularly Hamilton, who has faced challenges adapting to the new environment. Leclerc, despite his skill, has also not secured a Grand Prix victory this year.
Elkann, disappointed with Ferrari’s F1 performance, emphasized the importance of unity for success. He highlighted the team’s strengths in mechanics and engineering but pointed out shortcomings elsewhere, stressing the need for drivers to focus on their performance.
As Ferrari currently sits fourth in the constructors’ championship with no Grand Prix wins in 2025, the team faces stiff competition from Mercedes and Red Bull. Hamilton, expressing frustration after a poor race in Sao Paulo, remains determined to bounce back in the upcoming events.
Leclerc acknowledged the challenges ahead for Ferrari to secure their position in the constructors’ championship, emphasizing the team’s collective effort to improve performance for the remaining races.
