I had an amazing two-week adventure exploring Disney World and Universal in Florida. These parks are vast, offering a plethora of activities that are impossible to fully experience in just a fortnight.

The sheer size of Disney World is mind-boggling, akin to a self-sustained city or county. It rivals the dimensions of San Francisco or Manchester and dwarfs Manhattan. Boasting its own transportation system with ferries, cable cars, and a fleet of 490 buses, Disney World is a marvel of scale. In contrast, Universal, though smaller, still impresses with its amenities and the convenience of park-hopping on foot, a feature not found in Disney World.

Annually, approximately 58 million visitors flock to Disney World, far surpassing the inbound visits to the UK. With 80,000 employees, Disney World stands as Florida’s largest employer.

Both Disney World and Universal, situated near Orlando, offer more than just rides. From captivating shows like Beauty and the Beast to thrilling parades and character interactions, these parks cater to a variety of interests. However, the rides remain a highlight for many visitors.

During my stay, I had the opportunity to enjoy over 50 rides between the two parks. Whether it was the adrenaline-pumping roller coasters or family-friendly attractions, each ride added its own charm to the overall experience. To assist fellow travelers, I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 rides from Disney World and Universal, ranked for your convenience:

– Universal’s Volcano Bay water park features a thrilling body plunge ride down a 125ft drop, offering an exhilarating experience.
– The Avatar Flight of Passage ride immerses you in a 3D flight simulation like no other, making it a must-try at Disney.
– Monsters Unchained at Universal’s Epic Universe promises an engaging narrative and thrilling experience akin to Harry Potter’s Escape from Gringotts.
– Haunted Mansion offers a spooky yet kid-friendly ride through ghostly encounters, perfect for family enjoyment.
– E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios is a nostalgic ride that captures the essence of childhood adventures.
– Various water rides like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Na’vi River Journey provide exciting splashes and immersive experiences.
– Living with the Land at Epcot offers a unique educational boat ride, complemented by other gentle rides like It’s a Small World and Jungle Cruise.
– Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges at Universal’s Islands of Adventure stand out as a thrilling white water experience for all ages.
– Tron Lightcycle Power Run at Disney’s Magic Kingdom delivers a high-speed, immersive ride that transports you to an electrifying world.
– The Fearless River at Universal offers a thrilling water adventure with strong currents and exciting rapids for an unforgettable experience.

These rides, including Velocicoaster, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, showcase the diverse and thrilling attractions found at Disney World and Universal. Each ride offers a unique experience, making the parks a paradise for thrill-seekers and families alike.
