Anthony Joshua is poised to keep his fans in suspense regarding his comeback to the boxing ring until just two days before the fight commences. Joshua has not competed since suffering a devastating knockout at the hands of Daniel Dubois at Wembley in September of last year. He is eyeing a warm-up bout before potentially facing off against domestic rival Tyson Fury in the upcoming year. The two-time heavyweight world champion is considering being added to an undercard slot before the Christmas season at short notice.

Eddie Hearn, the promoter, stated, “We will finalize his next fight decision this week. If he does fight this year, it will be a surprise announcement, with preparations happening discreetly. We have been in discussions with potential opponents for a tune-up fight, aiming for a low-key approach where Joshua would weigh in and compete without much fanfare.”

Hearn added that a significant departure from this strategy would be a matchup with YouTuber Jake Paul. However, despite Paul seeking replacements for a December bout, Joshua is not among the contenders. Hearn mentioned, “Although discussions have taken place, there has been no official offer. While a fight against Jake Paul could be intriguing, I doubt Joshua would consider such an exhibition.”

The highly anticipated Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn rematch is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 15, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fans can either purchase the fight on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or watch it for free with a DAZN Ultimate subscription.

Currently, Joshua is in search of a new coaching team after parting ways with trainer Ben Davison following his last three fights. The Olympic gold medalist recently visited Oleksandr Usyk’s training camp in Spain as he gears up for the next phase of his boxing career. Joshua has previously worked with esteemed trainers like Tony Sims, Rob McCracken, Robert Garcia, and Derrick James before aligning himself with Fury’s former stable.
