Tiger Woods recently announced a hiatus from golf following a back surgery in October. This marks his seventh back surgery and third major operation in the past two years, including procedures on his Achilles and ankle.
Despite winning the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year gap, Woods has struggled with injuries, hindering his competitive edge. While he hosted the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, he acknowledges a long road to recovery before returning to the sport.
Although joking about playing numerous events, Woods emphasized the need to focus on rehabilitation before deciding on his schedule. He mentioned being cleared for chipping and putting after six weeks, with plans to gradually increase gym activities and rotational exercises to aid his recovery process.
Woods aims to surpass the PGA record for tournament wins, currently tied at 82 with Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, highlighted walking the course as a primary challenge post-surgeries.
