CBS Media Ventures unveiled a trailer on Thursday for “Adam’s Law,” a fresh daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the 58-year-old son of the renowned Judge Judy. Fans of Judge Judy’s sharp wit and no-nonsense approach will be pleased as Levy seems to embody similar courtroom energy, delivering sharp and clever remarks from the bench.
Interestingly, Judge Judy initially had reservations about passing on the judicial baton. In the trailer, she candidly shared that she wouldn’t have encouraged her son to take on the show years ago because she wasn’t ready to relinquish her own role. With a chuckle, the 83-year-old star of “Judge Judy” expressed her belief that Levy has the talent to surpass her, a notion she finds challenging.
The upcoming series, executive produced by Judge Judy herself, is scheduled to debut on September 14. This launch comes five years after the conclusion of the original “Judge Judy” show, which enjoyed a successful 25-season run on CBS, attracting an average of 10 million viewers per episode.
Levy, with over 25 years of legal experience, including serving as a district attorney in New York’s Putnam County, is well-prepared for his new role. Encouraging litigants to prioritize truthfulness, Levy emphasized his unease with demonstrably false statements. Judge Judy is confident in her son’s abilities, predicting that “Adam’s Law” will rise to the top of daytime programming.
Known for his previous roles as a presiding judge on Prime Video’s “Tribunal Justice” and “Justice on Trial,” Levy is no stranger to courtroom reality TV. “Adam’s Law” is set to air on various CBS-owned stations in the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, and will also be available in Canada on Citytv and Citytv+ starting September 14.
