Three individuals tragically lost their lives in separate road accidents in Quebec overnight. The first incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when emergency services responded to a vehicle that had veered off Route 132 East near Chemin Mistral in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, as reported by the Sûreté du Québec. The driver, a 35-year-old man who was the sole occupant, seemed to have lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was temporarily closed but reopened at approximately 4:45 a.m.
Later, at about 3:20 a.m., emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on Route 138 near Franquelin. The SQ disclosed that four individuals were in the vehicle when the driver apparently lost control, resulting in one fatality and the other three occupants sustaining critical injuries, posing a threat to their lives. Two out of three lanes in the accident area were shut down in the morning.
A third incident was reported around 6 a.m. on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. The SQ stated that a car traveling eastbound veered out of its lane, causing the driver to lose control, leading to the vehicle rolling multiple times. A man and a woman in their thirties were inside the car and were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. Sadly, the 37-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, while the man remains in critical condition.
