“Drake Drops Diverse Tracks in ‘FOMO’ Film”

Date:

Drake delighted his fans with a diverse range of content, including multiple fresh tracks, in his highly anticipated “not so short film” released on Tuesday evening. Promoted on Instagram as such, the film indeed lived up to its description.

Running for about an hour and streamed live on various platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, and Apple, “Fear of Missing Out (FOMO)” provided a glimpse into Drake’s summer adventures and luxurious lifestyle. Viewers were taken on a journey through Drizzy’s opulent Toronto residence, where he was seen enjoying moments with his mother Sandra Graham and her friends, as well as cruising on his lime-green luxury speedboat towards the Toronto skyline.

The video included nods to Toronto and Canada, with references and hidden surprises, like a scene featuring Drake and fellow rapper Loe Shimmy at the Canadian National Exhibition in $150,000 Iron Man suits.

Celebrity appearances were plentiful in the film, with guests like SexyyRed, Stunna Sandy, model Winnie Harlow, NBA star Kevin Durant, and adult film actress Lena the Plug. Similar to his previous ICEMAN livestream, parts of which were repurposed for visual albums from his HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR records, FOMO also showcased new music, including unreleased collaborations with Don Toliver, PartyNextDoor, and Yeat.

The video introduced nine fresh tracks, including Drake’s highly awaited remix of Ella Langley’s hit song “Choosin’ Texas.” Additionally, at the Toronto premiere of FOMO, Drake hinted at a world tour scheduled for 2027.

For fans who missed the livestream, their fears of missing out turned into reality as Drake made the film private on YouTube shortly after its release. Online reactions from viewers who did catch the film were mixed, with some expressing disappointment while others praised Drake’s longevity and consistency in the music industry.

Jamaican artist Spice congratulated Drake on Instagram, commending his dedication and hard work on FOMO. Drake, also known as Aubrey Graham, had built up anticipation for the film through social media teasers, culminating in a self-funded project that he described as a story about seizing every opportunity during one summer.

In his reflective caption before the release, Drake shared profound advice and motivations for viewers, challenging stereotypes about the music genre and urging kindness and attention to each other’s work.
