All Elite Wrestling (AEW) mourns the loss of Benjamin Satterley, popularly known as Pac, a prominent English professional wrestler, who passed away at the age of 40. The news of his death was shared by AEW on social media on Sunday evening. The cause of his death has not been disclosed, but it was noted that he had been on television the night before, participating in a match against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Satterley, hailing from Newcastle, England, started his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. He gained recognition in various independent wrestling circuits worldwide, showcasing his distinctive blend of acrobatic maneuvers and a strong, muscular physique. Transitioning to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) from 2012 to 2018 under the ring name Adrian Neville, he played a significant role in the NXT developmental program and the cruiserweight division.
Joining AEW in its inception in 2019, Satterley competed against and alongside the company’s top talents, securing multiple championships, including the international title. Known for his breathtaking finishing move, the black arrow, Satterley was nicknamed “The man that gravity forgot” for his aerial prowess.
Throughout his career, Satterley portrayed different personas in the ring, including the menacing villain “The Bastard.” Despite maintaining a private personal life, tributes poured in from colleagues and friends following his passing, highlighting his talent, humility, and dedication to wrestling.
The wrestling community was deeply saddened by Satterley’s death, coming shortly after the loss of another AEW wrestler, Andy Williams, a.k.a. The Butcher, who passed away in September. Satterley’s infrequent social media presence included a shared photo with Williams just days before his own untimely death.
