Traffic disruptions occurred on the M60 motorway in Manchester due to a police incident, causing significant delays in both directions. The incident led to the closure of the motorway at Junction 23 in Ashton-under-Lyne, as well as the shutdown of Manchester Road around 3pm.

An announcement from the official Manchester City support group on social media advised travelers to the Etihad Stadium to allow extra time for their journey and consider alternative routes to avoid prolonged delays. Both the M60 and Manchester Road were closed, impacting traffic flow near the area.

The National Highways confirmed the reopening of the M60 in both directions after the police-led incident was resolved. However, travelers were cautioned to expect 15-minute delays in the area and plan their journeys accordingly.

Prior to the reopening, a spokesperson from the Bee Network had warned of potential delays, reiterating the closures on the M60 and Manchester Road. Travelers were urged to exercise patience and consider alternate routes to reach their destinations smoothly.

The M60 experienced traffic congestion due to the earlier police incident, causing inconvenience for commuters heading towards the Etihad Stadium.
