US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania are currently being hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at a grand state banquet held in Windsor Castle during their official state visit to the UK.

In line with tradition, expert chefs have meticulously crafted a menu, traditionally written in French, to represent the country being visited. The detailed menu for the evening includes a starter of Hampshire watercress panna cotta with parmesan shortbread and quail egg salad.

The main course features organic Norfolk chicken ballotine wrapped in courgettes, accompanied by a thyme and savory-infused jus. To round off the meal, guests will indulge in a vanilla ice cream bombe with Kentish raspberry sorbet interior and lightly poached Victoria plums.

An exquisite selection of wines awaits the attendees, including Wiston Estate Cuvée 2016, Domaine Bonneau de Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2018, and Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 2000. Additionally, Sir Winston Churchill’s preferred champagne, Pol Roger Extra Cuvée de Reserve 1998, has been included as a nod to the president’s admiration for the wartime leader.

Following dinner, guests will be treated to Warre’s 1945 Vintage Port and Hennessy 1912 Cognac Grande Champagne, symbolizing Mr. Trump’s presidential tenure and his mother’s birth year in Scotland. A special offering, Bowmore Queen’s Cask 1980 from Islay, honors the late Queen Elizabeth with a bottle crafted for her Golden Jubilee in 2002.

In a new tradition, a unique cocktail named Transatlantic Whisky Sour has been concocted, blending Johnnie Walker Black with marmalade citrus flavors. Topped with pecan foam and a toasted marshmallow on a star-shaped biscuit, this creation evokes the cozy ambiance of a fireside S’more.

A notable departure from the customary banquet proceedings is Trump’s decision to abstain from a personalized cocktail, a customary gesture initiated by King Charles. Despite the teetotaler stance, the ceremonial drink celebrating the “special relationship” between the two nations will be presented at the banquet.

Trump’s abstinence from alcohol traces back to his brother’s tragic battle with alcoholism, which led to his untimely death. Reflecting on the impact of this loss, Trump emphasizes the importance of avoiding such struggles by abstaining from alcohol.

Tonight’s lavish banquet fare marks a distinct contrast from the sumptuous feast served during Trump’s previous visit in 2019. Notably, the menu for this occasion showcases a different array of dishes to delight the esteemed guests and dignitaries in attendance.

Royal family members, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and Princess Anne, are expected to grace the event with their presence, enhancing the regal ambiance of the state banquet.
