A German shopkeeper revealed that Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, hinted at possessing crucial information that could unravel the long-standing mystery. Brueckner, recently released from prison after serving time for a 2005 rape incident, allegedly made cryptic remarks about having evidence to resolve the “scandal of the century” during a visit to the shop.

The shopkeeper, Farouk Salah-Brahmin, disclosed that Brueckner insinuated he had knowledge that could clear his name and put an end to the accusations against him. Mentioning USB sticks and hinting at his ability to provide a solution, Brueckner left Farouk puzzled by his cryptic statements.

Farouk further detailed Brueckner’s behavior, emphasizing the suspect’s fear for his safety due to undisclosed information he possessed. Brueckner allegedly expressed concerns about potential threats on his life and pointed out his ankle monitor to Farouk, indicating he was being monitored.

Reportedly, Brueckner raised suspicion by attempting to purchase an untraceable mobile phone without proper registration, in violation of the law. Farouk claimed that Brueckner also inquired about acquiring a Sim card without presenting identification, despite the legal requirements.

Despite being under scrutiny as a suspect in the McCann case, Brueckner showed no restrictions on his ID card regarding travel. Following his release, Brueckner retreated to a different city to evade the police presence, revealing plans to establish a new life with a permanent residence.

Brueckner, previously convicted of rape in Portugal, has been a person of interest in Madeleine McCann’s disappearance, although he has not faced formal charges. German authorities have been monitoring Brueckner since 2020 in connection to the case.
