A young boy vacationing in Mexico encountered an unexpected surprise when he sensed movement in his ear and discovered a live crab had taken up residence inside. The incident, where medical personnel performed a remarkable crab removal, has garnered significant attention online, serving as a peculiar reminder to exercise caution while relaxing on the beach. The boy, identified as Pedro and the son of influencer Kitzia Mitre, was at the beach when he started feeling discomfort.

After Pedro expressed concern about the movement in his ear, his mother quickly sought medical assistance. At a local health facility, a doctor carefully extracted a tiny green crab using tweezers while Pedro held his mother’s hand during the procedure. Despite missing a leg, the crab was alive and made an attempt to escape post-extraction.

Kitzia Mitre shared a video of the incident on social media, which rapidly went viral, accumulating millions of views. The footage showed Pedro visibly distressed, covered in sand and water from the beach, while medical professionals delicately removed the crab. Subsequently, the influencer mentioned that the experience had triggered a newfound fear.

Throughout the extraction, Pedro cried and clung to his mother. Although the crab removal seemed to have been executed without causing lasting harm, ensuring Pedro’s safety and preserving his hearing were paramount concerns.

Kitzia confirmed that they promptly sought medical attention for Pedro, prioritizing his well-being to avoid any potential infection or harm to his ear drum. She emphasized choosing safety for her son’s well-being over the creature’s presence.

Medical experts highlight the risks associated with foreign objects, particularly living organisms, in the ear, such as infection, discomfort, and potential hearing impairment if not promptly addressed. Individuals are advised to be vigilant about small creatures, shells, or debris entering their ears, especially after swimming or walking in shallow water.

Fortunately, Pedro’s hearing remained unaffected, and he is currently recuperating, as per his mother’s update.
