A British couple from Leicester, Roger and Sue Topp, have chosen to celebrate Christmas in Benidorm, Spain, a place they have frequented over 100 times. Benidorm has become like a second home to them, where they have spent more than 35 years vacationing. Roger mentioned that after trying a holiday in Benidorm, they were hooked due to its friendly atmosphere, cleanliness, safety, and great value compared to UK trips.
Their love for Benidorm has led them to visit the resort around three times annually, departing from East Midlands Airport, especially during the cold British winters. The couple prefers staying at the well-liked Hotel Rio Park, conveniently located just a brief 10-minute walk from the vibrant main strip of Benidorm, where they plan to spend this year’s Christmas festivities.
As they prepare for their upcoming trip to Benidorm on December 23, marking their eighth visit in the year, Roger and Sue are excited to indulge in their favorite buffet, skipping the traditional Brussels sprouts in favor of the warm Spanish weather. They will connect with their family back home via FaceTime before relishing the holiday celebrations under the sunny skies.
Recalling their first Christmas experience in Benidorm, the couple praised the Rio Park Hotel for its lavish offerings, including a festive breakfast, a grand traditional Christmas lunch, all-day entertainment, and unlimited wine and beer. They expressed their appreciation for the stress-free holiday experience provided by TUI vacations.
Roger and Sue highlighted their fondness for the Hotel Rio Park, emphasizing its amenities and proximity to the beach, as well as the exceptional service from the staff who have become like family to them. When not enjoying the hotel’s facilities, the couple relishes the golden sand beaches and local attractions, with a Chinese buffet named Puente De Oro being a standout favorite for them.
The couple also indulges in the diverse Tapas offerings in Benidorm, particularly at the Zodiac Tapas bar near their hotel, where they enjoy six plates of tapas and a bottle of wine at an unbeatable price. They emphasized the quality and affordability that keeps them returning to these culinary delights.
Having arranged their trips through TUI multiple times, the couple commended the seamless booking process and personalized service they receive at their local store. TUI Travel Agent Cameron Morton, who has assisted them for over a decade, highlighted the couple’s loyalty to the Rio Park Hotel and their joy in meeting friends during each visit.
Despite their extensive travels to Benidorm, Roger and Sue have no plans to cease their yearly trips, praising the destination for its friendliness, affordability, and diverse offerings suitable for all ages and budgets. They encourage others to explore Benidorm beyond stereotypes and discover the charm of this beloved holiday spot.
