A 20-year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario, is facing charges related to a probe into the transportation of cocaine from Canada to Hong Kong. Authorities have accused him of exporting a Schedule 1 substance and participating in a conspiracy to commit a serious offense. The individual made a court appearance in Kitchener for a bail hearing.
The investigation by the Waterloo Regional Police Service began in September 2025 after a 20-year-old woman from Cambridge was apprehended at Hong Kong International Airport with 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine in her belongings. Recently, local law enforcement, in collaboration with various agencies, apprehended a man from Markham, Ontario, believed to be involved in the purported drug network that assisted the Cambridge woman in traveling from Toronto to Hong Kong.
The investigation remains active, with authorities continuing to pursue leads and gather evidence.
