In a few days, I will present my second Budget as the Chancellor. My focus will be on supporting working families by addressing NHS waiting lists, reducing national debt, and lowering the cost of living. These are not only national priorities but also my top concerns as Chancellor.
One key aspect is tackling NHS waiting lists to fulfill our pledge of reviving the NHS from previous challenges and ensuring prompt treatment for patients. Additionally, reducing national debt is crucial to redirect funds towards essential sectors like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and communities.
Addressing the cost of living is another significant area of focus. Many households face financial pressures, especially with rising prices affecting ordinary families the most. Recognizing the challenges faced by working people, we are committed to taking steps in the upcoming Budget to alleviate these burdens.
Our government has already implemented measures to ease financial strain on households, such as freezing prescription charges and rail fares, establishing school breakfast clubs, and combating ticket touting. These initiatives aim to reduce everyday expenses for individuals and families, with further actions planned in the upcoming Budget.
The stability we have achieved in the economy enables us to address the cost of living effectively while maintaining fiscal discipline to avoid past mistakes. By cracking down on inefficiencies, fraud, and unnecessary spending, we ensure that every pound is utilized efficiently, whether in asylum support, governance reforms, or welfare system integrity.
The forthcoming Budget is designed to benefit you and your family, fostering a fairer, stronger, and more secure Britain.
