An elderly woman is in critical condition following a brutal attack by her seven Rottweilers. The 77-year-old was swiftly taken to the hospital after the unruly pack of dogs assaulted her in Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Saturday. This incident occurred just a day after a 70-year-old man lost his life due to an attack by four pit bulls in Minas do Leao, also in Rio Grande do Sul.

The unnamed woman sustained severe injuries to her nose, ear, and multiple lower limbs, along with a portion of her scalp being torn off. Reports indicate that all the dogs involved belonged to her and were later taken into custody by the Municipal Guard.

Dr. Renato Fetter, the attending physician, mentioned that the patient was fortunate to survive, despite suffering significant injuries including the loss of part of her nose, a nasal fracture, complete destruction of her ear, and mutilation on her lower limbs.

In a separate incident, market trader Paulo Roberto de Carvalho, 63, passed away in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense, after being attacked by two pit bulls a week earlier. His grieving family paid tribute to the hard-working man after the tragic event in the city.

Another tragic occurrence involved a one-week-old baby, Jason Anthony Weaver, who was fatally mauled by the family’s dog that suddenly turned aggressive. The infant, born on August 28, succumbed to blunt-force trauma injuries inflicted by the five-year-old husky-pit bull mix on September 7. Despite efforts by medics to save the child’s life, he was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital in northeastern Indiana, US. The dog was captured and placed in quarantine following the incident, which authorities ruled as an accident.

The family expressed their grief online by posting an obituary in memory of the child, Jason Anthony (Weaver) Kinsey, highlighting his brief life and love for music.

Tragically, less than a month prior, a five-month-old boy was fatally attacked by a dog after his mother entrusted him to relatives on her birthday in Florida. Sheriff Mike Chitwood from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department expressed deep sorrow over the “extremely, extremely heartbreaking” case and mentioned that the family has a 10-day window to appeal the potential euthanization of the dog.

Upon returning home, the infant’s great-grandmother found him lifeless and covered in blood next to their 130lb Great Dane and husky mix. The parents rushed the child to Advent Hospital in Daytona Beach, where he was pronounced dead despite medical efforts.

Sheriff Chitwood, visibly emotional, described the situation as a tragedy for the young mother celebrating her birthday and the grandparents, emphasizing the profound emotional impact on the family.
