A recent significant update for Football Manager 26 has reintroduced a controversial feature that had been removed earlier due to issues. The update by Sports Interactive not only includes general fixes for crashes and stability but also brings back a much-requested gameplay element.

The feature allowing players to give commands to their team during matches, known as “Shouts,” was initially removed from FM26 after it was found to not function as intended in the previous installment, FM24. However, following an observed increase in matchday duration, Sports Interactive decided to reverse this decision and bring back the Shouts feature.

Acknowledging their mistake in removing the feature prematurely, Sports Interactive announced that Shouts will be reintroduced in the upcoming Content Update 1, set to be released during the week commencing on December 8. This update will also include various enhancements like improvements to loan screens, player searches, and more.

The developers confirmed that the Shouts feature will operate similarly to how it did in FM24, with plans for a new replacement feature in the future. Although the update is currently accessible only through the Steam Public Beta Branch, fans can expect to have access to it very soon, allowing them to once again engage with their players during matches.

The response from Football Manager players on platforms like Reddit has been mostly positive, with many expressing excitement about the return of the Shouts feature. Despite some initial skepticism about its effectiveness, fans are eager to have this interactive element back in the game, highlighting the impact it had on their gameplay experiences.
