Luxury retailer Harrods has informed certain customers that their information may have been compromised in a recent cyberattack. The prestigious store, located in Knightsbridge, London, disclosed that personal details like names and contact information might have been accessed during an IT security breach.

In an email sent to customers on Friday, Harrods assured them that the incident was isolated and that no passwords or payment data had been stolen. The company stated, “We were alerted by a third-party provider that some Harrods e-commerce customers’ personal data was breached from one of their systems.”

Harrods clarified that the impacted personal data was limited to basic identifiers, excluding sensitive information like passwords or payment details. The third-party provider confirmed the breach was contained and termed it an isolated event. Harrods is cooperating closely with the provider to ensure all necessary measures are in place and has notified relevant authorities.

The company emphasized that its internal systems remained secure and that this breach was unrelated to a previous cyberattack in May. This developing situation is being closely monitored for updates.
