Staying at an airport hotel is all about convenience for me, so I don’t pay much attention to whether the room offers a nice view; as long as there is a decent bed and a clean bathroom, I’m content.

However, my recent stay at Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport has set the bar high for my future expectations. Upon entering my room, it was evident why this is a 4-star hotel. The room was notably spacious, featuring an inviting king-size bed, tea and coffee amenities, a generous bathroom with quality toiletries, ample storage space for luggage, and a desk beside a full-length mirror.

The standout feature of the room was the view from the window overlooking Heathrow’s runway. While I’m not one to spend time watching planes near airports, the experience of observing aircraft take off and land, especially on the eve of a trip, was undeniably thrilling.

Despite the proximity to the planes visible from the room, I was pleasantly surprised by the soundproofing; the room effectively blocked out any noise from the engines, which was impressive. The tranquil atmosphere, comfortable bed, and blackout curtains ensured a restful night’s sleep, crucial before my early morning airport departure.

The room provided all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including a coffee machine, a spacious bathtub and shower, making it an ideal hub for preparing for a day of travel. The onsite restaurant, The Gallery, offered a satisfying dinner without breaking the bank. The menu featured a delightful mozzarella salad, roast salmon, and delicious ice cream.

Location-wise, Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport excelled in its accessibility to the airport. The hotel is conveniently situated on the Hopper bus routes, offering a free shuttle service to the terminals. While the first bus around 5:20 am accommodates most flights, I opted for an Uber for an earlier departure, albeit at a slightly steep cost.

Room rates at Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport start from £120 per night, offering good value considering the quality of accommodation and the captivating runway views. With 314 rooms available, guests can choose rooms with guaranteed runway or airport views, or opt for more budget-friendly options without the view.
