Jake Paul’s promotional company has released a statement in response to allegations against his upcoming opponent, Gervonta Davis. The accusations include battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping made by an ex-girlfriend of Davis.

Scheduled to face off in an exhibition fight on November 14 in Miami, Paul and Davis come from different weight classes, with Davis in lightweight and Paul in cruiserweight. Although the bout won’t affect their professional records, a winner will be determined by stoppage or by a panel of two human judges and an AI official if the fight goes the distance.

Amid calls for the fight’s cancellation due to the accusations against Davis, reports hinted at Paul considering Ryan Garcia as a replacement. However, Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s company, clarified that no decision has been finalized.

The statement from Most Valuable Promotions stated that an investigation was promptly launched following the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30, 2025. The company is currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the situation to make a well-informed decision.

Expressing a firm stance against violence, the company emphasized the importance of handling the matter diligently and respectfully. Further actions will be determined once the review is completed and consultations with relevant parties have taken place.

While Davis has not responded to the accusations directly, his trainer Calvin Ford dismissed them as baseless. The lawsuit alleges that Davis assaulted his ex-partner, Courtney Rossel, at her workplace on October 27 and had previously made threats against her life. Rossel also claims that Davis physically attacked and choked her on multiple occasions, seeking damages of $50,000 and a jury trial.

Regarding the potential replacement fighter, Ryan Garcia, promoter Oscar De La Hoya explained that the fight between Garcia and Paul is unlikely due to contractual obligations with different platforms. This development may prompt Paul to delay his return to the ring until December, with past rumors linking him to a matchup with heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, though finalizing such a deal on short notice appears doubtful.
