Despite recent heavy rainfall causing flooding in Las Vegas, the upcoming Formula 1 event is expected to proceed without weather disruptions. The city experienced significant rain on Tuesday, resulting in standing water on some roads, as seen in numerous social media posts showcasing the flooded conditions, including parts of the street circuit.

Upon arrival in Las Vegas, Mirror Sport observed cars navigating deep puddles near Harry Reid International Airport. These occurrences are not uncommon when sudden downpours hit a city located in the heart of the desert.

By Wednesday morning, the sun had returned, and much of the standing water had dried up. A visit to the Linq Hotel revealed a decrease in the amount of standing and running water, although some remnants were still present.

While there was no official comment from Formula 1 representatives, there are no concerns about the weather affecting the upcoming track events, as per information obtained.

Showers returned later on Wednesday during media day, with drivers arriving prepared with umbrellas as the circuit received more rain. Fortunately, this did not lead to any additional standing water issues on the track.

More rain is forecasted for Thursday evening and Friday morning, but conditions are expected to improve as the weekend progresses, with a dry race anticipated on Saturday night.

Event organizers are optimistic that the inclement weather will not deter spectators, especially amid a year of decreased tourism in the city. Ticket prices for the Las Vegas Grand Prix have been significantly reduced, leading to a notable increase in sales compared to the previous year.

The championship lead is currently held by Lando Norris, with a comfortable 24-point advantage over Oscar Piastri. Max Verstappen remains in contention mathematically but faces a significant points gap to catch up. Following the Las Vegas race, the season concludes with the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix.

Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to include additional streaming services and channels, offering comprehensive coverage of Formula 1 and other sporting events throughout the season.
