A woman, engaged to a man who won a significant £11.5 million gambling prize, was caught driving under the influence of drugs with her children in the car. The incident occurred when Kelly Dighton, 41, collided with an off-duty police officer’s vehicle in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The court heard that Dighton, who had previously been banned from driving for drug offenses, tested positive for cocaine following the crash.
Dighton received a suspended prison sentence of 17 weeks and a three-year driving ban. She was also ordered to pay £1,710 in compensation to the victim and a total financial penalty of £1,982. Her lawyer mentioned that she was rushing to take her pregnant daughter to the hospital at the time of the accident and had been struggling with drug issues but had been clean since then.
The court appearance was supported by Dighton’s fiancé, Arron Freeman, who recently won the £11.5 million jackpot. Freeman, a scaffolder, proposed to Dighton during a luxurious trip to Turkey. Dighton expressed her excitement on social media about their upcoming wedding and the romantic proposal. Since the win, Freeman has purchased a BMW M8, while Dighton has showcased expensive jewelry and cosmetic procedures in her TikTok videos.
