A participant from the TV show “Married At First Sight UK” has recently shared that he was denied the opportunity to appear on Celebs Go Dating, despite his efforts to persuade the show’s producers.
Georges Berthonneau, who gained recognition from his appearance on the 2023 season of MAFS, expressed his desire to join the celebrity dating program on Channel 4. However, he stated that his request was promptly turned down, with the producers indicating a preference for another MAFS participant, Ella Morgan.
In an interview with The Sun, Georges voiced his disappointment, asserting that he would bring a unique dynamic to the show. He mentioned that despite his previous stint on Celebs Go Dating in 2018 alongside TOWIE star Chloe Sims, the current bosses were uninterested in having him on the show again.
The 31-year-old reality star claimed that the show’s executives dismissed his proposal without consideration, missing an opportunity for engaging television content. He emphasized his willingness to participate in another romantic series, highlighting his distinct personality compared to typical TV personalities.
Georges’ marriage to Peggy Rose, which was formed during his time on MAFS, ended in turmoil shortly after the show’s conclusion. Peggy later accused Georges of becoming overly focused on fame, leading to the breakdown of their relationship.
Following their split in early 2024, Peggy alleged that Georges had been unfaithful after she received evidence of him dating another woman. While Georges denied the cheating allegations, he attributed the relationship issues to Peggy’s behavior, citing gaslighting and manipulation as contributing factors.
Despite the setbacks, Georges remains open to new opportunities in the entertainment industry and expressed his readiness to engage in future projects.
