Chilling security camera footage captures the Manchester synagogue attacker, Jihad Al-Shamie, as he leaves his residence and embarks on his deadly mission. The video shows the 35-year-old driving a black Kia Picanto through residential streets from Prestwich, Manchester, to the Heaton Park Congregation Synagogue in the Crumpsall area. Upon arrival, he rammed his vehicle into a volunteer guard and fatally stabbed a man. The assailant was subsequently shot by police, unintentionally hitting a worshipper in the chaotic incident.
The tragic attack, occurring on Yom Kippur, claimed the lives of 53-year-old Adrian Daulby and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz, both residents of Crumpsall. The footage owner, who prefers to remain anonymous, expressed shock upon reviewing the footage and witnessing Al-Shamie’s calm demeanor before the attack. This proximity to the attacker’s residence left the owner perturbed, realizing the close presence of such criminal intent.
Dressed in a fake explosives vest, Al-Shamie assaulted the synagogue by ramming the guard with his car and then proceeding to fatally stab a man. Swift police intervention led to the attacker’s demise, with two worshippers losing their lives and four others sustaining injuries. Al-Shamie, a British citizen since 2006, had a troubled past, including allegations of rape and a self-declaration of allegiance to ISIS during the attack.
A woman shared her harrowing experience of an abusive relationship with Al-Shamie, detailing his extremist views and attempts to indoctrinate her. She recounted his insistence on watching radical videos and his attempts to manipulate her beliefs, despite her Muslim faith and upbringing. The unsettling revelations shed light on the attacker’s manipulative tactics and radicalization efforts.
