Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to Allison Hsu, a music industry executive. The marriage was confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News. The wedding festivities took place in France as reported initially by TMZ.
Liu and Hsu publicly announced their engagement in May 2025 during a trip to Paris after officially dating since late 2022. They shared updates on their relationship on social media, with Hsu posting images from wedding-related events in Mexico and a summer visit to Paris with Liu.
Expressing his feelings about their relationship, Liu mentioned in a 2023 interview with People magazine that he feels supported and loved by Hsu. Liu, originally from China and raised in Toronto, will be reprising his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.”
Liu gained international recognition for his portrayal of Shang-Chi following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience,” where he played Jung Kim. Apart from his Marvel role, Liu has appeared in various projects, including the movie “Barbie” and the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” Additionally, he made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year.
