Police have discovered a body believed to be that of a British man who went missing on the Costa del Sol last month. The man, identified as 65-year-old Andrew Wade, was last seen on August 15 near Marbella. His friends expressed deep concern for his well-being after he left his residence.
National Police officers involved in the search for Wade located the body in the Paraiso area near Estepona. A spokesperson for the police mentioned that an extensive search operation was conducted with the help of Civil Protection and the Estepona Fire Brigade. Wade, who was preparing to return to his home country, had been missing since August 15.
Authorities had been examining his last known movements and had previously searched the area using drones without success due to the dense vegetation. The body was found in the Paraiso region, pending official confirmation of identity and cause of death.
Sources close to the investigation indicated that the body is presumed to be that of Mr. Wade. Reports from when he went missing highlighted concerns from friends about his uncharacteristic behavior, including leaving his cats behind. An acquaintance described him as a “lovely” person.
A Spanish charity, SOS Desaparecidos, appealed for any information regarding the case. At the time of his disappearance, Wade was possibly driving a black Volkswagen Golf.
