A mother from Hull, who underwent plastic surgery in Turkey that left her with severe complications, is now battling a dangerous infection that is causing significant damage to her skin.

Soreena O’Malley traveled to Turkey for a tummy tuck and 360 liposuction, advertised on Facebook, but three months later, she is confined to bed in England after the NHS confirmed the surgery was improperly done. Soreena’s wounds are not healing properly due to circulation issues, leading her to seek emergency treatment from the NHS upon her return to the UK.

As a result of the botched surgery, Soreena now has a large wound on her stomach, making simple tasks like dressing extremely challenging. She expressed her distress over the situation, emphasizing how she saved for a long time for the procedures due to insecurities about her body post-pregnancy.

Describing the aftermath of the surgery performed abroad, Soreena revealed that the infection was causing severe damage to her skin, leaving a significant gap in her abdomen that could take years to heal. She shared her concerns for other women contemplating overseas cosmetic procedures, highlighting her disappointment with the care she received.

Recalling her experience leading up to the surgery, Soreena recounted feeling unsettled upon arriving at the hospital in the early hours of the morning and being pressured to pay upfront to secure a bed. She also noted the language barrier issue with consent forms being in Turkish without translation available.

The NHS advises caution when considering cosmetic surgery packages online, urging individuals to have consultations with the surgeon, visit the hospital beforehand, and meet the surgeon in person before committing to any procedures.

In an effort to raise funds for corrective surgery, Soreena’s partner launched a GoFundMe page with a £5,000 target, currently having raised £426. To donate, click here.
