Mystery shrouds the deaths of a social media influencer and her teenage daughter in Rio de Janeiro. Lidiane Lorenço, 33, and her 15-year-old daughter Miana Sophya were discovered deceased in their Barra da Tijuca apartment on October 10. Lidiane was found in a bedroom, while Miana was in the living room, with no signs of violence reported by Brazilian media citing the local police department, 16th DP.
The family’s attorney revealed that a recent forensic examination has raised more questions than answers regarding the case. Rodrigo Moulin, the lawyer, expressed concerns about the findings, stating that the police are being cautious and considering various possibilities.
Following a three-hour forensic investigation, Moulin highlighted irregularities in the apartment’s gas installations as a definitive observation. He emphasized that the police have not ruled out any theories yet, including food-related causes, pending further forensic analysis.
Lidiane had moved to Rio a few years ago to study medicine and pursue a career as a model and influencer. Miana had also relocated from São Paulo to live with her mother in Rio. The police confirmed that no signs of assault were found during the initial forensic examination at the scene.
Moulin emphasized the importance of the death certificate in determining the cause of death for both Lidiane and Miana, considering their pre-existing health conditions. Lidiane had thrombophilia, a condition that increases blood clotting risk, while Miana suffered from hemophilia, a rare disorder affecting blood clotting proteins.
The lawyer also mentioned a suspicion that Miana might have passed away before Lidiane based on the difference in their decomposition states. Further investigations and the awaited forensic results are expected to shed more light on the tragic incident.
