Just in time for the holiday season, a fresh Grand Theft Auto Online update is on the horizon. Instead of spreading holiday cheer, this update, named A Safehouse in the Hills, offers players the chance to invest in a luxurious mansion complete with amenities like swimming pools, kennels, and hot tubs.
Aside from the opulent living spaces, players can anticipate a range of new missions, vehicles, and items, as well as a feature that enables them to create their own missions. Serving as the final update for GTA Online in 2025, this release sets the stage for Rockstar Games’ promising year ahead with the upcoming launch of GTA 6.
Now live for players, the new GTA Online content, A Safehouse in the Hills, marks the last major update for 2025. It was rolled out on December 10 across platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, as reported by All Out Gaming.
The release took place at 10am GMT UK time, corresponding to 5am EDT / 2am PDT in the US, and 11am CET for European players. The Safehouse in the Hills feature offers players the opportunity to purchase a mansion from Prix Luxury Real Estate, featuring expansive outdoor areas and meticulously designed interiors, accompanied by a state-of-the-art AI Assistant for professional and personal assistance.
These mansions come equipped with Trophy Cabinets, a private Salon, animal Kennels, stylish Garages, indoor car podiums, an armoury, vehicle workshops, a helipad, a cigar room, vault, media room, arcade, and yoga area. Players can host parties and hire a security team within their mansions. The update also introduces new Law Enforcement Vehicles, Drift variants, Freemode events, and various experience enhancements.
A standout feature is the Mission Creator, described as an advanced toolkit that allows players to design and share their own missions, incorporating custom objectives and actor placements.
Rockstar Games unveiled the update via a blog post earlier in the month, highlighting the addition of a lavish palace in an exclusive Los Santos neighborhood, new missions, vehicles, and enhanced gameplay elements. Additionally, GTA+ Members receive exclusive perks like early access to the Vapid FMJ MK V and special benefits for mansion owners through The Vinewood Club App.
