Piers Morgan has now provided clarity on his recent social media remarks regarding Jake Paul’s boxing career, where he criticized the matches as “staged.” Speculation has been rife that Jake Paul might face Anthony Joshua in the ring soon.

Jake Paul, aged 28, rose to fame on YouTube before transitioning to boxing in 2020, winning 12 matches since then. Notably, he has secured victories over renowned figures like Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in different weight classes and has also bested former UFC star Nate Diaz in boxing matches.

Despite some reservations about Paul’s performances, Piers Morgan had previously expressed skepticism. However, with the possibility of Paul facing Anthony Joshua, Morgan has altered his stance. He highlighted that his concern with Paul’s fights was primarily about facing athletes past their prime, a scenario that would not apply to Joshua, an active boxer.

In a recent post, Morgan clarified his earlier statement about Paul’s fights against aging opponents, emphasizing the need for Paul to compete against currently ranked boxers to truly showcase his skills and credibility in the sport. He also extended an invitation for Paul to join him on a show to discuss the potential bout with Joshua.

While the idea of a match between Paul and Joshua has received skepticism from some quarters, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s long-time promoter, acknowledged the possibility. Hearn revealed that discussions with Paul’s team indicated a genuine interest in the fight, with a significant chance of it materializing in the near future.
