Autumn has arrived, bringing ideal walking conditions for those seeking a leisurely stroll instead of a challenging hike. One particular route stands out as the most beautiful in the UK, offering a variety of wildlife and a stunning beach view.

The Porthdinllaen Circular trail, favored by both locals and tourists for years, showcases picturesque coastal scenery, with the occasional appearance of grey seals sunbathing on its shores. Managed by the National Trust, this 2.5-mile walk takes around 1-2 hours to complete and offers breathtaking views in all directions, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

While relatively easy compared to other coastal paths, the trail does have some steep sections, so hikers should be prepared. Along the way, walkers can enjoy the golden sands of Ty Coch and explore a historic shipbuilding site from the 1830s-1840s.

Starting and ending at the Morfa Nefyn car park, the trail provides facilities like toilets and coffee spots at Ty Coch. Dog owners will be pleased to know that the route is dog-friendly, and there’s even a pub, the TŶ Coch Inn, conveniently located on the beach for a quick drink or snack break.

With its scenic views and manageable distance, the Porthdinllaen Circular trail has earned the title of the UK’s ‘easiest’ walk. A recent study by AllClear Travel Insurance highlighted this route as one of the world’s easiest, considering factors such as walking distance, elevation gain, and average temperature.

Notably, the Porthdinllaen Circular was the first UK location to feature on the list, sharing the tenth spot with Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway Blue Trail. Renowned for its iconic rock formations, the Giant’s Causeway is a popular tourist destination, offering a shorter 0.8-mile walk to the famous stones. Walkers are cautioned about slippery rocks and nearby bus routes, emphasizing safety along the path.

Both the Porthdinllaen Circular and the Giant’s Causeway exemplify the UK’s natural beauty and are cherished by visitors for their scenic charm and historical significance.
