Joey Essex emerged victorious in his first boxing match against influencer Numeiro after a tough battle. Trained by his uncle Tony, who once mentored Anthony Joshua, Essex gained fame from his appearances on reality TV shows like “The Only Way Is Essex” and “Love Island.” His long-standing desire to fight in the influencer boxing promotion Misfits finally came to fruition.

Entering the ring in Manchester with a singer and two violinists, Essex started the fight shakily in the first round but landed a significant right hook on Numeiro’s jaw. Despite this initial success, Essex failed to capitalize, allowing his opponent to recover. Both fighters aggressively engaged in the second round, with Essex landing more punches and energizing the crowd. However, Numeiro finished the round strongly, maintaining a competitive edge.

The intensity escalated in the third round, captivating the audience and even drawing former world champion Tony Bellew to his feet. Numeiro received a standing count, indicating he needed a knockout to win, while Essex displayed remarkable endurance. The final round saw both fighters trading blows, showcasing their resilience and determination despite being newcomers to the sport.

After a grueling match that went the distance, Essex was declared the winner by two of the three judges. Overwhelmed with joy, he collapsed in celebration, while Numeiro was left disappointed. Earlier in the event, Essex’s cousin Demi Sims secured a victory in her debut fight, along with other impressive performances from fighters on the card.

Additionally, Rahim Pardesi settled a rivalry with Amadeusz Ferrari by winning their match in the final round. Chase DeMoor successfully defended his heavyweight title with a controversial stoppage against Natan Marcon, who had thrown an egg at DeMoor during a pre-fight face-off. Tyson Fury’s former sparring partner Ty Mitchell achieved a significant victory over Sean Hemphill, marking a milestone in his career.

Throughout the event, the fighters delivered thrilling performances and memorable moments, captivating the audience with their skills and determination.
