Ryanair has unveiled new flight options to a sunny destination where temperatures in December can reach up to 18C, starting at just £15. The airline is expanding its services at Murcia airport for the upcoming winter season by 37%, adding four routes. Among these routes is a fresh connection to London Stansted with four weekly flights, along with increased flights to Birmingham and Dublin.
Initial ticket prices for travel to and from Murcia are set at a wallet-friendly £15 from Stansted. This development is expected to generate more than 450 local jobs and offer travelers a wider range of affordable choices, as stated by Alejandra Ruiz, the spokesperson for Ryanair in Spain.
Ryanair’s winter schedule for the 2025/2026 season in Murcia is aimed at enhancing connectivity beyond peak travel times, contributing to the creation of over 450 jobs locally and bolstering year-round tourism in the region.
Despite the growth at Murcia Airport, Ryanair has been compelled to reduce its overall seat capacity in Spain by one million for the 2025/2026 winter season due to a significant rise in AENA charges (+6.62%) and ineffective incentive programs, which are rendering regional airports financially unsustainable.
While Ryanair has traditionally supported and invested in regional airports to facilitate low-cost travel and promote tourism and employment, the airline finds it challenging to continue investing in airports hampered by uncompetitive fees.
Murcia is renowned for its cultural attractions, pleasant weather, historical significance, culinary delights, and picturesque beaches.
