Singapore Airlines operates the world’s longest flight connecting the United States to Asia, spanning nearly 19 hours. The airline’s route from New York’s JFK Airport to Singapore Changi holds the record for the longest non-stop journey, covering 9,537 miles in 18 hours and 50 minutes. Launched in 2018, this service utilizes advanced A350-900ULR aircraft capable of flying over 20 hours continuously due to a specialized fuel system that increases the plane’s fuel capacity to 24,000 liters.
Despite its impressive duration, economy class seats are not available on this route. Instead, Singapore Airlines offers 67 Business Class seats and 94 Premium Economy Class seats. Passengers in Premium Economy enjoy extra legroom, a footrest, an adjustable headrest, noise-cancelling headphones, and in-flight WiFi. Business Class passengers benefit from privacy and fully flat beds for a restful journey.
Singapore Airlines emphasizes that the A350-900ULR provides a superior travel experience with features like heightened ceilings, larger windows, and custom lighting to combat jet lag. The aircraft’s carbon composite airframe enhances air quality. Tickets for this exclusive service are priced at a premium, typically reaching five figures.
CEO Mr. Goh Choon Phong stated that this non-stop route offers the fastest travel option between the two major cities, combining comfort with Singapore Airlines’ renowned service. The airline aims to enhance connectivity through its Singapore hub with these cutting-edge flights.
